荣誉项目 Application Process

The 荣誉项目 offers several entry points for students with a desire to broaden 或者深化他们的学术研究.

First Year Experience Honors is designed for both incoming students and continuing students who want an introduction to Honors education. The program curriculum is interdisciplinary and supports students to produce honors quality Students completing the Honors First Year Experience receive the designation “第一年荣誉" on their UNC transcript.

大学荣誉课程

大学的荣誉 is designed for students who want to take full advantage of the intellectual breadth and depth of the 荣誉项目, providing access to upper-division electives and in-depth research experiences culminating in the creation of a Senior Capstone项目. Students who completed 第一年荣誉 simply continue their journey, but all UNC students -- including transfer students -- may apply for entry to the program as late as the end of their sophomore Students completing the 大学荣誉课程 receive recognition at commencement and official designation as “大学的荣誉” on both their transcript and diploma.

顶峰经历

The Honors Capstone program is designed for juniors and seniors who discover Honors too late to take advantage of the full program or who want to explore their major discipline in-depth through the creation of an Capstone项目. 这个项目 may be in the form of a traditional research thesis, a creative work, or an applied 项目. Students completing the Honors Capstone-Only program receive an “Honors Capstone" 成绩单上的名称.

To apply for any path through the Program:

Incoming Students from High School

首先申请UNC. Then, if you are accepted to UNC, you will receive an invitation through your admitted students portal to apply to the 荣誉项目, which is a separate 应用程序. If you do not find that 应用 to Honors option in your portal, or have 如有任何问题，请发邮件给我们 honors@bukatara.com ，我们可以帮助你!

Application questions for current UNC Students:

For students applying to either 大学的荣誉 or 顶石的经验:

1. What have been your most important activities outside of classroom learning? (e.g. work, hobbies, family, religious, sports, research, extra-curricular clubs, music, 创意活动等.(300字以内)
2. What are your future educational, graduate school and/or professional goals?  如何 does the 荣誉项目 fit into your plans? (150字以内)

For students applying to 大学的荣誉:

Choose one question and answer in the space below (You may copy and paste your response 从另一个文档. Do not use AI generated text as your response.  这一定是 用你自己的话来说):
1) Please describe one achievement you are particularly proud of – it can be academic 或者是个人性质的. Discuss any obstacles or barriers you had to overcome or the steps you had to take to make this achievement possible. 
OR 2) Please describe one time when you used original thinking in your approach to 问题或挑战. (500字以内)

For students applying to Capstone Honors Experience:

Discuss one issue, problem, concern or research question that you would be interested 更深入地探索?  你为什么选择这个问题? 你会以什么方式 有兴趣探索这个问题? Do not use AI generated text as your response. 这必须是你自己的话. (500字以内).
